Oil on surplus aluminium composite
Anna Kuukka
30 × 33 cm
In this oil-painted series, the paintings are executed on aluminium composite panels — industrial surplus material that would otherwise end up as waste in recycling. The dimensions of my works are partly determined by the sizes of the “rescued” material pieces available to me.
A distinctive visual feature of the panel is its glossy surface, which forms a contrast with the oil paint once it has dried to a matte finish.
All works are ready to hang and stand slightly away from the wall, mounted on wooden profiles attached to the back.

Anna Kuukka (b. 1979) is a designer and visual artist who works across disciplines with a range of materials and graphic media, including concept design, textiles, graphics, product design, and branding.
Alongside other studies, Anna Kuukka holds a BA in clothing design and began her career as a fashion designer. That background continues to shape her artistic expression: “I approach the human form in a similar way I would approach a garment — as a living surface, where material, movement and inner experience meet. A figure is never only a body; it carries presence, tension and something that remains just beyond the visible.”
Anna’s artwork is for sale, and she’s available for commissions and design collaborations.
