Stoneware, Ceramic, hand-building, sculpture, single firing
The Lonely Mountains is a unique ceramic sculpture that continues my exploration of natural and human forms by merging elements of both.
The work balances between collapse and elevation—where one curve gives way and another rises, supported by three legs. A cluster of forms creates a soft, mountain-like landscape, with cloud-like elements emerging within it.
In shaping these forms, I draw from my own experience as a physical being—exaggerating, inventing, and extending forms through a playful, handmade imagination in dialogue with my environment and the present moment.
