Long before chemistry, there were elements.

Fire, air, water and earth were the forces people once used to make sense of a world in constant change.

Elements is a multi-sensory exhibition. It invites you into four rooms and the quiet space between them, each shaped by light, material, sound and scent working together rather than separately. You don't just look at it. You breathe it, hear it, taste it and feel it. There is more than one way through, and each path tells its own story.

Elements is curated and produced by Smell the Art, a Helsinki-based platform that pairs art with curated fragrance to create layered, shared encounters, in collaboration with Helsinki Perfume Club, ODDfest and Imatra Spirits.

oil on surplus aluminium composite
66 × 76 cm
In this oil-painted series, the paintings are executed on aluminium composite panels — industrial surplus material that would otherwise end up as waste in recycling. The dimensions of my works are partly determined by the sizes of the “rescued” material pieces available to me. A distinctive visual feature of the panel is its glossy surface, which forms a contrast with the oil paint once it has dried to a matte finish. All works are ready to hang and stand slightly away from the wall, mounted on wooden profiles attached to the back.

The Paintographer Of The SunFlowers.I went to see my friend who is making the frames for my Art works from the birch trees of the archipelago of Finland. At his backyard in Nauvo there is a place where he puts all the sunflowers which are withering after being in a vase. I ran into this place by accident as I was walking in the backyard in the moonlight night with my camera. I saw the amazingly beautiful flowers. Some already dead, some still alive. And the Idea of ”Homage to Vincent” came to me. Vincent did his blooming Sunflower works in Paris and year later under the burning sun of Arles, South of France in the late Summer. I thought I do the opposite. I do my withering sunflowers under the moonlight of October in the Archipelago.

We’re often drawn to what we want to keep close, even while growing away from it. The tension between holding on and letting go runs through Tempra. In Italian, ”tempra” refers to the tempering of metal through heat; a process of enduring fire and becoming something new without losing the essence of what was there before. In Tempra, fire becomes both a force of rupture and a source of transformation. (Unframed.)

Ceramic, hand-building sculpture
40 × 21 × 28 cm
4.5 kg
Melt Together is a unique ceramic sculpture in which the material has surprised the artist in the best possible way. During the glaze firing, the glaze bubbled in a lava-like manner, fusing the separate parts of the sculpture together and sealing openings that had previously remained exposed. The crater-like surface invites close viewing and tells its own story—one of unpredictability and of the intertwining of fragility and strength, both in life and in the ceramic process.

Stoneware, Ceramic, hand-building, sculpture, single firing
70 × 60 × 34 cm

The Lonely Mountains is a unique ceramic sculpture that continues my exploration of natural and human forms by merging elements of both. The work balances between collapse and elevation—where one curve gives way and another rises, supported by three legs. A cluster of forms creates a soft, mountain-like landscape, with cloud-like elements emerging within it. In shaping these forms, I draw from my own experience as a physical being—exaggerating, inventing, and extending forms through a playful, handmade imagination in dialogue with my environment and the present moment.

“What if?” is a unique ceramic sculpture that gently bends, curve after curve, searching for its direction. What if my destination lies elsewhere? What if I paused here, just for a moment? What if it is best to simply keep going? What if I grew branches, or floats, or bigger, stronger muscles, roots, dreams… And… what if… just like this, right here, is already enough? This is a unique piece, created in Helsinki at Keramiikkastudio Kaoliini.

Laser-cut wood Light Art Sculpture
40 × 40 × 40 cm
This illuminated laser-cut sculpture explores the relationship between memory, place, and inner architecture. Formed from layered maps of the artist’s hometown, the suspended cube transforms physical geography into an emotional landscape - a meditation on how spaces continue to exist within the mind long after we have left them behind. Light radiates from within the structure, projecting fragmented pathways and shadows across the surrounding walls. These shifting projections become metaphors for memory itself: unstable, layered, and constantly reforming. Streets once walked, childhood routes, familiar corners, and forgotten spaces are reconstructed through light and absence, suggesting how environments become permanently embedded within

Laser-Cut Wood Kinetic Sculptures

These three suspended spiral staircases extend the idea of Pathways of the Mind into physical space - fragments of an impossible architecture suspended between movement and stillness. Hanging above the viewer, they become symbols of emotional transition, reflection, and the unstable process of becoming. Each staircase appears incomplete, leading neither fully upward nor downward, echoing the non-linear nature of thought, healing, and self-discovery. Their suspended state creates a tension between gravity and escape, as though they exist somewhere between memory and imagination. The spiral form suggests repetition and return - the cycles of thinking, analysing, doubting, and rebuilding that occur within the mind. Unlike functional stai

Another Sun
Another Sun
2025
Oil on canvas
40 × 40 cm
“Another Sun” used to be a different unfinished painting, only to become unfinished again in 2023, because I had no clue how to finish it. In 2022, the very first painting made me feel nothing, so, disgusted, I covered it up. In 2023, it was time to paint something new on top, and I had this vision of an overwhelmingly bright sun coming through a heavy storm. While painting, I realized that this scene wasn’t from Earth really - it looked foreign, mysterious, haunting. It felt like something that was boiling inside of me. I fell in love with the upper half of the painting, but no matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t figure out what should go to the bottom. I repainted the bottom multiple times, but all felt wrong, so I left the painting be for two years. One day, in 2025, while preparing for my solo show, I looked at it again and suddenly knew how to finish it. During these years, I have changed, matured, gone through a couple of crises, and drawn conclusions. Suddenly, I was ready to embrace the foreignness and weirdness, defy some physics laws, and let the painting live its own life. It was surprisingly easy to finish it. Just like that, one painting can reveal an iceberg hidden underneath. I haven’t nearly revealed enough about it, but hopefully, enough for you to look at a piece of art from a different perspective.

Oil on canvas
33 × 41 cm
One late summer evening, I went to the lake near my home. It was an ordinary walk, and I expected to see familiar scenery. Instead, I saw a pier leading into fog instead of lake. I got paralyzed. There was no line between the sky and the water; wherever I looked, there was only nothingness. I peered into it, trying to recognize shapes and colors. I wasn't sure if I imagined traces of land and sunset, or if they were really there. I felt like I was floating in that nothingness, dissolving into it. Like everything was nothing and nothing was everything. It was eternal loneliness and, at the same time, contentment and connection. I felt clarity and infinite calmness. In "Nothingness", I aimed to share that feeling of hypnotizing nothing - looking at you, paralyzing you, making you rethink your life.
